Attarine

Uniform design for Attarine, Jakarta, Indonesia.

Attarine was Potato Head Family’s unique take on a chef-driven neighbourhood restaurant, rooted in Mediterranean simplicity and American ingenuity with a nod to the exotic offerings of the spice island and beyond. Through a constantly evolving menu, Attarine combines the chefs’ culinary influences and expertise with the freshest locally-sourced ingredients in presenting a forward-thinking refined dining concept that crosses culinary boundaries.

Celebrating the spirit of ‘Good Food’, the team at Attarine puts emphasis on all of the elements that turn the act of eating into an experience and showcases the complexity of simple, thoughtful, and above all, good food. The fluid menu showcases a wide range of bold flavors in innovative ways, as well as daily, weekly or monthly offerings that are reflective of the seasons. This approach allows the team to draw on their creativity to represent themselves one plate at a time.

The interior reflects this dining concept, a cozy, natural, organic setting to showcase the restaurant’s vibrant and flavourful meals. It features a high ceiling, an open kitchen and a mix of table and casual counter seating with an eclectic selection of furnitures, creating a charming and welcoming environment for intimate gatherings.

These values are adopted into the garments for the kitchen and the floor staff, a take on a classic neighbourhood restaurant uniform; short sleeve shirt, trousers and apron in natural cottons and linens. We took a simple approach, using natural colourways to highlight the already vibrant palette of the dishes.

As the restaurant grew over the years, we have created a few versions of the uniform designs. They derive from the same values, but seen in new lights. the classic restaurant garment types with a warm palette, a nod to Attarine’s Mediterranean approach, with a few more decorative details such as contrast topstitching and contrast buttons.

All the garments were produced locally in Jakarta and were developed together with the Attarine Team in 2017
